Post 1 Description

Last week, in our first class, we discussed the word "symbol," and we concluded that some of the sights in Lower Manhattan are symbols. Choose one of the sights you saw on Monday during our walking tour of Lower Manhattan, and discuss why you think it's a symbol. You can incorporate your answers to the following questions into your response:

  • Describe the sight/symbol.
  • What were your first thoughts when you saw it? Did it make you feel a certain way?
  • Why is it a symbol? What is a symbol of?
  • Is it similar to a some sight in your city?

To create your post, click "New Post" in the upper-right-corner of this page and then click "Publish" when you're done writing. Please use the following title for your post: "First Name - Post 1." Your post should be about one paragraph in length.

  1. The Sphere
Spehere is localized in Battery Park, Manhattan. This sculpture was a symbol of peace but after of September 11, 2001 attacks this sculpture began a symbol of hope and indestructible spirit of USA in honor to the persons who died in the attack.
When I saw it, I didn't know its value, but after I understand it. It's a sculpture that survived the attack and then it is important.
In Mexico are similar sculptures with symbolsof them, for example "El angel de la independencia" it remember the independence of Mexico and the heroes that participated.
